A perfect blend of two passions—soccer with a camera in hand. The Dolly Cup is a village-based tournament in northern Tanzania, bringing together local teams to compete for pride, community, and the title of top team in the region.

As one of my first networking opportunities after moving to Tanzania, I was invited to help manage the tournament and transport players and supporters to matches. Documenting the event alongside these responsibilities offered a unique, inside perspective on the energy, logistics, and relationships that brought the competition to life.

 

The finalists not only earned bragging rights, but also received specialty kits from Premier League side Everton. Fittingly, the championship was decided in a thrilling penalty shootout—capturing the spirit and joy of the tournament.
